Hari Raya or Hari Raya Puasa or Bulan Puasa or Eid-ul-Fitr or Ramzan Eid is a Muslim Festival celebrated in most parts of the world having Muslim people, especially in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. This day marks the end of the holy month of fasting and abstinence known as Ramadan.
In 2013 Hari Raya or Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on 9th August 2013.
On this day Muslims gather early in the morning in the mosques to perform the Eid prayer. After this visit their respective relatives and friends, exchange sweets and gifts. Especially kids recevie money from the elders known as “duit raya” which makes Eid ul-Fitr a very joyous day for children. It is also a time to ask for forgiveness for sins which may have been committed but was cleansed as a result of the fasting in the Ramadan month.
Hari Raya – Idul Fitri Wishes Greetings :
In Indonesia Muslims greet each other saying “Minal Aidin Wal Faizin” or “Selamat Idul Fitri”. Like view in Malaysia Muslims greet each other saying “Salam Aidilfitri” or “Selamat Hari Raya” which basicaly means “Happy Eid”.
