2013 Arjuna Awardees : Winners of 2013 Arjuna Awards

Trap shooter Ronjan Sodhi, the first Indian to win two back-to-back World Cup gold medals, was on Tuesday recommended for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna for the year 2013.

Apart form him, 15 sportspersons from different sports were picked for the Arjuna award by the selection committee in New Delhi.

The Arjuna Award selection committee was headed by three-time billiards world champion Michael Ferreira and comprised former India hockey captain Zafar Iqbal, archer Limba Ram, cricketer Ravi Shastri and table tennis player Indu Puri amongst others.

Please find below the names of the players who will be presented the Arjuna Award by the President of India at a ceremony in New Delhi on August 29, 2013.

About Arjuna Award :

The Arjuna Awards were instituted in 1961 by the government of India to recognize outstanding achievement in National sports. The award carries a cash prize of INR 500,000, a bronze statuette of Arjuna and a scroll.
