The year 2013 will see in all 5 eclipse, two solar eclipse and three lunar eclipse.
Solar Eclipses occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth and directly blocks the light of the sun. Depending to the moon’s position, Solar eclipse are classified into Total, Hybrid, Annular and Partial Solar Eclipse.
Similarly, a lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind the Earth into its umbra (shadow). This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle.
Depending on the moon’s position relative to the shadow of the Earth, Lunar eclipse are classified into Total lunar eclipse, partial lunar eclipse, penumbral eclipse and total penumbral eclipse.

Annularity will be visible from northern Australia eastern Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and the Gilbert Islands with the maximum of 6 minutes 3 seconds visible from Tarawa, (Republic of Kiribati) and the Pacific Ocean east of French Polynesia.
Partial phases of the eclipse are visible primarily from Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia.
